1. Who operates this website

vaultglimp.com (“VaultGlimp”, “this website”) is operated by Marc Tremblay, a private individual acting in a personal capacity. It is not a company, a partnership or an incorporated body, and there is no staff behind it.

Marc Tremblay decides why and how any personal information described below is handled and is therefore the organization responsible for it under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA, S.C. 2000, c. 5).

2. The short version

VaultGlimp is a reading site publishing editorial write-ups of sweet-themed mobile games listed on the Canadian Google Play storefront. It contains no form, no sign-up, no account area, no comment thread and no shop, and it has no technical means of receiving a detail about you through a page. The only personal information connected with it is the technical record any web server keeps when it answers a request, plus whatever you choose to put in an e-mail if you write to the address above.

3. What this website does not collect

Through the pages of vaultglimp.com the operator does not collect names, postal addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, dates of birth, identification numbers, card or banking details, location data beyond the country-level inference described in section 4, or any special category of information. No advertising network, tag manager, social plug-in, chat widget, push-notification service or first-party analytics script is loaded on any page, and there is no profiling and no automated decision-making.

4. What is processed when you open a page

Serving a web page is a technical exchange, and two service providers take part in it.

4.1 Hosting

The hosting provider that stores and serves the files keeps ordinary server records: the requesting IP address (often replaced by the network address of the delivery layer), the date and time, the page requested, the referring address if your browser sends one, the HTTP status code, the volume of data returned, and the user-agent string identifying your browser and operating system. They exist so the site can be delivered and so faults and abuse can be investigated.

4.2 Cloudflare

The domain is served through Cloudflare, Inc., a content delivery and security network. Cloudflare terminates the connection at an edge location, filters abusive traffic and caches files. In doing so it processes the same kind of technical data, may infer the country associated with your IP address, and may collect Core Web Vitals — the browser's own measurements of loading, responsiveness and layout stability. It may set strictly technical cookies for security and routing, described in the Cookie Notice. If Cloudflare injects its own performance beacon at the network edge, that is a function of the delivery network and not a script written into these pages.

Neither the operator nor these providers can identify you by name from this technical data, and no attempt is made to do so.

5. Storage on your own device

This website places no cookies of its own. When you answer the notice bar on the home page, one value is written to your browser's local storage under the key vg7.notice, so the bar does not reappear on your next visit. That value stays on your device, is never transmitted to anyone, and can be erased by clearing site data for vaultglimp.com. Full detail is in the Cookie Notice.

6. Purposes and legal basis

Under PIPEDA an organization may handle personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, and generally with consent. The purposes here are narrow: delivering the requested pages, keeping the website available and secure, complying with legal obligations, and answering messages readers choose to send. Consent for the technical processing in section 4 is implied by requesting a page, because the exchange cannot happen without it; consent for anything you place in an e-mail is express.

7. Disclosure to others

Personal information is not sold, rented, traded or exchanged, and it is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, marketing services or analytics companies, because none are used. It reaches only the hosting provider and Cloudflare, as processors acting on the operator's instructions, and may be disclosed where a Canadian law, subpoena, warrant or court order requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

8. Transfers outside Canada

The infrastructure behind this website operates internationally, so the technical data described in section 4 may be handled on servers outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. PIPEDA treats such transfers as a use by a third party for processing: the operator stays accountable and relies on the contractual terms and security commitments published by those providers for comparable protection. While information sits in another jurisdiction it may be reachable by the courts and authorities of that jurisdiction. Write to the address in section 1 to be told which providers are in use.

9. How long information is kept

Server and delivery records are kept only while useful for security and fault analysis, ordinarily no longer than twelve months, and are then deleted or aggregated so that no individual request can be reconstructed. Correspondence sent to the editorial address is kept while the exchange is live and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, so a correction can be traced back to the reader who reported it. The value stored under vg7.notice stays on your device until you remove it.

10. Your rights

PIPEDA gives you the following rights in respect of personal information held by the operator:

• Access. You may ask whether any personal information about you is held, what it is used for, and to whom it has been disclosed, and you may ask for a copy of it.
• Correction. You may challenge the accuracy and completeness of that information and ask for it to be amended.
• Consent. You may revoke a consent you have given, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and to reasonable notice. Because this website asks for nothing, in practice this means asking for correspondence to be deleted.
• Deletion. You may ask for information that is no longer required for the purpose it was collected for to be erased.
• Complaint. You may complain about the handling of your information, first to the operator and then to the federal regulator.

Write to editor@vaultglimp.com or to the postal address in section 1. A request is acknowledged within ten business days and answered within thirty, without charge in the ordinary case. The operator may ask for enough detail to be satisfied the request really comes from you; that detail is used for nothing else and is deleted once the request is closed.

11. Complaints to the regulator

If you are not satisfied with the answer you receive, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada:

Nunavut has no separate private-sector privacy statute of general application, so PIPEDA governs this website and the federal Commissioner is the competent authority.

12. Age

This website is written for an adult general audience and is not directed at children. The operator does not knowingly handle personal information about anyone under sixteen and asks that younger readers do not write to the editorial address without a parent or guardian. If you believe such a message has been received, write to the address in section 1 and it will be deleted.

13. Security

The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and because no form and no reader database exists the attack surface is deliberately small. The mailbox and the hosting control panel are protected by unique long passwords and two-factor authentication, and files are published from a patched workstation. No safeguard is absolute; an incident creating a real threat of significant harm would be reported to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and to the affected individuals, as PIPEDA requires.

14. Electronic messages

No newsletter, mailing list or commercial electronic message is sent from this website, and no address is added to any list. Replies go only to the person who wrote in, answering their own message, consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL, S.C. 2010, c. 23).

15. Consumer protection

Nothing is sold here, so no consumer contract is formed with the operator. Where the Consumer Protection Act, RSNWT (Nu) 1988, c. C-17, as it applies in Nunavut, gives you rights that cannot be excluded, this notice does not limit them.

16. External links

Pages here refer to Google Play and to game developers. Those services are run by other organizations with their own privacy practices, over which the operator has no control and for which no responsibility is accepted. Read their notices before providing anything to them.

17. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised when the website changes or when the law does. The date in force is printed at the top and is changed whenever the text is amended; a substantive change is announced on the home page for at least thirty days. Continuing after a change means the current version applies to your visit.
